Process Assessment
The first time we meet with a client we usually perform an assessment of the business process. During this meeting we ask a number of questions about the tools and the processes that are currently in place. The meeting is usually 1 to 2 hours. We like to meet with one decision maker in the business and a few key people that are intimate with the process under investigation. Several days following the meeting, Productivity source will provide a proposal identifying the areas with the largest potential for improvement and a plan to implement a solution.
Following the proposal submission, a time is scheduled to discuss the implementation in detail. During this meeting you will have your input on the look and operation of the software solution that we implement for you.
MS Office Macros -
Quite often we are able to make use of software you have on your PC. Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Access) have extensive "macro" capability. That means that they can be customized to perform operations that are specific to your needs. The big advantage is that you will be using a tool that is already familiar to you, and you have the opportunity to tell us how you want your customization to look and operate.
Custom Software Applications -
If the job is too big or unique to be handled with a macro, we can develop a "stand alone" custom application to meet your needs. This would be a program that you would install just like one that you would purchase. The only difference is that it is custom tailored to your business.
Database Development -
Frequently the type of solution that business need involves a database. Your are likely already using a database perhaps unknowingly. Microsoft Outlook and accounting software uses databases of some sort. Most businesses will have at least one unique requirement for a database, however. This database would be for managing data on the order of 20 items up to millions or more. Often our customized solutions will involve the implementation of a database, or even interfacing to an existing database for added functionality.
